Located in the heart of Porto at R. de Rodrigues Sampaio 115, Pastelaria e Confeitaria Moura stands as a revered local gem for anyone craving authentic Portuguese pastries and freshly brewed coffee. This cherished bakery and café offers more than just food—it provides an experience steeped in tradition, quality, and genuine local flavor.
Step inside or enjoy the outdoor seating to savor some of their standout delicacies, such as the iconic Café E Jesuíta and the delicately airy Jesuíta E Limonete. These flaky, lightly sweetened pastries melt in your mouth, perfectly complementing a robust cup of coffee. Don’t miss their Santiago and Lemon Cake, a tangy yet balanced treat that lingers pleasantly on the palate, and the Folhado de Frango, a savory puff pastry that showcases the mastery of their bakery craft.
What truly sets Pastelaria e Confeitaria Moura apart is the palpable sense of community buzzing within. As one visitor, Raymond Lai, brilliantly observed, locals flock here for breakfast—firefighters among them—affirming its place as a beloved neighborhood spot untouched by tourist crowds. The pastries, as he describes, are “fresh and very attractive looking,” and the coffee is “freshly made on order,” with lattes boasting a creamy richness and American-style coffee offering a bold, expertly pulled cup.
Leandro Dias captured the essence of this bakery succinctly: the “quality is unbelievable,” and it’s hard to imagine a finer example of regional bakery excellence in Oporto, especially at such friendly prices. Yossi Nakash further appreciates the combination of “great service,” excellent pastries, and coffee that competes with international chains but at half the price.
Whether you’re seeking the quintessential pastel nata, flaky croissants with savory cheese, or a cozy place to unwind with a cup of coffee, Pastelaria e Confeitaria Moura invites you into a warm, authentic setting where every bite tells a story. The balance of tradition and quality here resonates deeply—making each visit a heartfelt celebration of Porto’s rich culinary heritage.
For aficionados of bakery craft and coffee lovers alike, this is a must-visit destination that feels less like a tourist stop and more like a treasured local ritual.

Traditional bakery in Oporto. Quality is unbelievable, I honestly don’t think it gets better than this when it comes to regional bakery. And really, really, cheap.
Had some pastries and coffee at this place. There were quite tasty, would recommend. Inside/outdoor seating is available.
Saw a bunch of local firemen come out of this cafe, so this place must be good. Stop by for breakfast and everyone is local here no tourists. Pastries are fresh and very attractive looking, and coffee is freshly made on order. Latte is delicious and the "American Style" coffee is dark and flavorful and delicious having been freshly pulled from an espresso machine. Would absolutely come back and try their lunch specials and savory pastries if we have time. Stuff is very friendly, and spoke enough English to get my point across even though we all laughed at my extremely poor Portuguese. Order at the counter, sit down and eat, and pay at the counter after you are done.
Came here to try their famous Jesuitas and it didn't discount. It's light and flaky and not overly sweet. It goes well with coffee or tea.
Great service ! Across the street from the social hub. Good coffee, good pastries, half the price of starbucks. Very recommended I took pastries, and croissant with cheese toasted
Had a beautifully morning trying the incredible pastries from Pastelaria e Confeitaria Moura— especially the Bola de Berlin. I have never had a pastry as delicious as this one— the dough was so fluffy like a pillow and the filling was creamy and perfectly sweet. Definitely go here when you are in Porto!!
Great service, lady Has explained to us what is their speciality, showed us how to eat, and in general was very helpful. Super cheap, good quality, great for a quick coffee
